FUEL FACTORY RACE OF CHAMPIONS
Thursday kicked off the weekend with test and tune, but Friday began eliminations with the Fuel Factory Race of Champions prior to the Team Captains Race and Gamblers Race. Brainerd Motorsports Park representative Joseph Newberry claimed the Box Fuel Factory Race of Champions victory by running over his 5.22 dial-in while Mitchell Reaves broke out six thousandths to take runner-up honors for Holiday Raceway. Charlie Lockhart ran dead on his 5.73 dial-in to overcome the reaction time deficit and secure the No Box win over Andrew Lindamood from Holiday Raceway.
London Dragway’s Noah Jent put together a .024 total package to leave Ryan Alexander (Atmore) mathematically ineligible in the Junior Dragster class. Cody Harrison (North Florida) went .0001 red beside Chad Brewer from Brainerd who was .018 total on the free pass for the Sportsman win. Ed Riley is .023 on the tree and runs two above his dial-in to earn the Motorcycle win for Gleason over Robert Meeks from North Florida.
Several additional drivers made their way into the winner’s circle Friday night with $3,000 up for grabs in the Box and No Box Gamblers Races, and 80% of the total entry monies going back to the winners of Sportsman, Motorcycle, and Junior Dragster.
Chris Dyess from Gulfport had a .020 total package, which left Allen Owens’ (London) .028 reaction time mathematically ineligible in the Box final round. Two Mitchells battled off the bottom in the No Box class with Seymore using a better reaction time and one above run to earn the win for Montgomery over Reaves, who was representing Holiday.
Gabriella Gateley from Gulfport turned on the red bulb in the Junior Dragster final beside Zoey Lane from Brainerd, who took the free pass directly into the winner’s circle. Gulfport racked up another victory when Robert Watson had a green light reaction time behind Marty Goldsmith (Brainerd), who left the line with a .003 red light. Sonny Vick secured the Motorcycle class win while representing Brainerd.
THE MAIN EVENT
Drivers brought their a-game on Saturday as cash, WDRA Champion cards, WDRA Rod Trophies, and potential invitations for the WDRA World Championships were on the table for Main Event winners.
A double-breakout Box final round ended with Billy Paul McGee running one thousandth under his dial to take the $5,000 win for Holiday over James Brown from Montgomery. Doyle Kay (Holiday) was .007 on the tree and ran dead on with a three to leave Chris Weber (London) mathematically ineligible with a .015 reaction time in the $5,000 No Box final round.
Cody Harrison returned to the Sportsman final and this time claimed the win for North Florida with a .011 reaction time, while Rich Arbitelle illuminated the red bulb while representing Brainerd.

The home team produced a Junior Dragster Champion when Breagan Gaither launched with a green light in front of Gulfport’s Troy Henderson, who followed shortly after with a red light. Another red light prematurely ends the anticipation as Dawin Rodriguez from Gleason fouls beside Spencer Johnson, who earns the Motorcycle Championship for Brainerd.
The fun wasn’t quite over yet, as Sunday featured another set of Gamblers Races for each class. Brainerd takes the last Box victory of the weekend, thanks to Ron Lane, while Kirk McConnell from London Dragway faces a mechanical malfunction on the starting line. Rich Arbitelle (Brainerd) is .003 red in the No Box final round, while Hayden Miller (Gulfport) leaves a green bulb shining on the tree to earn the win.
Noah Jent from London snags his second victory of the weekend with a .014 margin of victory over Hunter Handy (Montgomery) in the Junior Dragster class. Holiday’s Allen Reno secures a win in the Sportsman class with a better reaction time beside Kent Huff from Montgomery.
